Chapter 19

"Where is this place?" I leaned out and looked down the street holding on to Nick's hand.

"It's about 10 blocks away." He waved his hand out for a cab

"Can we walk Instead. I have never been to LA." He kissed me and pulled me into the cab "Well nevermind then."

"I'm sorry it's just I'm going to be late, I can walk you back after practice." He looked over and smiled at me. He rested his arm on my legs and proceeded to tell the Taxi where he needed to go. I moved his arm and shifted to rest both of my legs on his lap and put my head on his shoulder.

"well you just made yourself very comfortable didn't you." He wrapped his arm around me.

"Are you uncomfortable? I can move." He chuckled

"Kate, No, I like it." I smiled and rubbed his chest

"Awww arn't you just so adorable!" he lifted his eyebrows

"Adorable? can't I be like hot, or sexy? Something manly."

"Nope, your adorable. Sorry." He pulled me in and kissed my head.

The taxi pulled up in front of a practice arena. Nick somehow reached over and opened my door. I got out and he followed. He wrapped his arm around my waist and and we walked into the rink.
"You can sit here. we will be done in about 2 hours. The food stand is up that hall if your hungry."

"I will be fine." I kissed him and smacked his butt as he walked away. Nick turned around and winked.

I Had fun watching them practice. I always do, I love how they goof around so much. I walk to the food stand to get a pretzel. I noticed my phone had one miss call. I didn't even hear it in the rink.

"Hey Josh what's up, sorry I didn't hear my phone ring."

"It's okay. So can you talk for a minute?" He sounded a little unusual so I walked outside and sat on the bench.

"Yeah what's the matter."

"Have you talked to Brian recently." Now I was sick of hearing about Brian.

"He called me today but I didn't answer."

"You need to come home and get a restraining order." I was shocked. I didn't know what to say.

"what is going on?!" I was getting a little annoyed just because I was scared that Josh was hurt.

"I came home this morning from my club, The windows in my house are busted out, there is stuff written all over the sides of the house. You rental car is done, it is busted up so bad. Stuff from your room is missing. When I saw the car I walked over to it and there are pictures in it all over the place, of you and Brain. I don't trust him whatsoever and you are getting a restraining order. end of story." I didn't say anything. I did not know what to say.

"Kat, I'm not going to let him hurt you. Stop thinking about his feelings and start thinking about your safety."

"I just need to think for a minute. can I call you back please." I rested my head in my hand.

"If you don't call me back in an hour I'm calling you."

"Okay."

Brian had never hurt me. Sure he has threatened, he did it all the time but he never followed through with it. He has never done anything like this, I had to talk to him. I had to know what was going through his mind, what his intentions were.

"Brian?" He answered the phone but didn't say anything. "Brian, what the hell is going on."

"Do you love him?" He said in a cold voice.

"Can we not talk about this right now."

"Once again, Do you love him?" He had no emotion in his voice.

"Tell me what's going..."

"Do you fucking love him!" I had never heard him like this. It scared me.

"Yes I do. You need to stop. Leave Josh alone he has noting to do with this."

"I don't think you need to worry about Josh. Karma's a bitch and you will get what you deserve." He hung up the phone and I couldn't move. Everyone told me he was a bad influence, he was a bad person, and he was dangerous. The last time I saw Brian get like this was when he found out what his brother did to me. I felt like I owed him something for saving me from his brother, but Nick was right I didn't owe him anything. I needed to listen to what Josh and Nick were trying to tell me. I needed to protect myself.

I went back inside and sat down. I had a blank expression on my face. I couldn't think straight. Nick came up to me after they were finished.

"Ready to walk back." He sat his gear next to me and pulled me up by my hands.

"I talked to Josh." He smiled, I didn't

"Really how is he doing."

"I need to go back to Arlington. I need to get a restraining order."I Hung my head down again.

"Kate what happened, Is he okay?"

"Yes, I just need to make sure everything is okay with the house and all. Walk me back to the hotel and I will tell you what happened."

"Did you talk to Brian?"

"Yeah I did, and I'm really scared."
