Chapter 13

"You know how bad that hurts for a guy! I think you ripped my boxers!" I was laying on the bed laughing so hard.

"I'm going to give you a wedgie see how you like it!" He grabbed me but couldn't give me one. "I'm guessing you are not wearing any underwear at the current moment." I was still laughing

"No, It was laundry day I forgot to leave out an extra."

"Its ok don't explain I could get used to this." I punch him in the arm then stood up on the bed and fell into his arms. He laid me back down on the bed and started to kiss me.

"Don't we need to leave it is 8:00."

"Give me 5 minutes I'm leaving for a week remember." We got up after about 10 minutes and rushed out of the door. I was going about 70 miles per hour to make sure he wasn't late.

"You can slow down." he was grabbing the door handle very tight. "I can be a few minutes late, you are driving really fast." I looked at him and spoke in a baby voice.

"Awww is someone scared?"

"No not really, well maybe, the speed limit is 50."

"I'm sorry I will slow it down, I can't really help it I get it from my dad."


"Yeah about that, when am I going to meet your family, you talk about them all the time."

"How about this, I know you are going on a road trip a couple weeks from now and you play the Avs, how about I go with you and then we can have dinner or something with my parents."
He held my hand and smiled at me.

"Sounds like a good Idea." My phone began to ring but I could not grab it because I was driving so fast.

"Nick can you grab my phone out of my pocket its going off." He leaned over to grab it. "No babe other side."

"I won't be able to get that your seat belt is in the way." After a few tries he finally got it. "Wow what a surprise..." He had a annoyed look on his face.

"Who is it?" He pointed the phone towards me. "Brain....well you can't blame him I haven't talked to him since I stormed past him."

"You going to answer it?" The phone stopped ringing

"Well now I'm not, I have to call him to explain whats going on." He handed me the phone, I couldn't tell if he was mad about it or not.

"Brian... hey sorry I missed your call I'm driving Nick to the airport." Nick sat there still and quiet.

"It's okay, I just wanted to make sure everything was alright you were crying, I have never seen you cry."

"Yeah we worked everything out but I gotta go I'm driving, really fast too and I can't really concentrate on the phone right now." Nick shifted and looked at me.

"Can I talk to him?"

"What?!"

"Can I talk to him?"

"Are you serious, well I guess yeah hold on." I was a little shocked and handed Nick the phone.

"What's up." Nick's voice was very calm.

"Um hello, what's this all about."

"I just want to make sure Kate is ok with this and to know how you feel about her, especially since I will be gone a week and your out here visiting."

"Dude everything is cool don't worry about it."

"Alright if you say so, but if you hurt her, I'm not going to be very nice about it."

"Nick give me that!" I took the phone very quickly "Bye Brian." I hung up the phone and looked at Nick

"Why. Why did you feel the need to do that."

"I don't trust him, you already know that. I'm just looking out for you that's what boyfriends do, it comes with the job." Even though I was a little upset about the situation it felt nice to have a protective boyfriend that wasn't too over the top. My phone began to ring again.

"It's Brian again, don't say anything Nick please." He took the phone and answered it himself

"What now?" Nick's voice was not so calm this time.

"I think me and you need to meet up and talk when you get back."

"Are you crazy." I was so curious to what they were talking about.

"There are some things about Kate you should hear and I know she has not told you, for your own good." Nick was silent and the last thing he said was when I get back and hung up the phone.

"What did he say, he didn't want to talk to me?" He kissed me on the cheek

"No everything is ok, are we almost there?"

"Yup it's right there."
