Chapter 16

"What why?" I pulled the covers over my head

"Oh I woke you up, I know that voice anywhere." I laughed but it sounded more like an old woman's laugh who smoked all her life.

"Whatever, so what are you talking about." I got up and wrapped the covers around me and walked downstairs Josh was reading the newspaper and eating a bagel.

"I was thinking since we have a 2 day break before we go to our next game over here, I could fly you over and we can talk about everything and you could come to my game." I sat in the living room and turned on the TV.

"I don't know Nick I have work."

"Can't you take a small break I'm sure Josh won't mind." I kicked my feet up onto the table and started flipping through the channels.

"I know but he has given me so much these past couple months and he has really taken care of me, I don't want to let him down."

"Kate I have already."

"Hold on Nick."

"Hey Josh what's up." Josh was standing behind me. I turned to look at him

"Kat go, I will help you pack he already sent me the tickets via e-mail, It's fine."

"Huh??" I turned back around "Wait Nick you already talked to him?"

"Yeah I was trying to tell you that now get your ass up and pack, I want to see you."

"okay okay what time is my flight?"

"It's 6:25."

"Wow that's enough time!!" I was being sarcastic, I said good bye and ran up stairs. I tripped on my blanket and face planted and Josh could not stop laughing the whole time he was helping me pack.

"It's not funny!!" I was laughing too

"Yeah it is you cannot say it isn't, I mean if I threw a really wrapped tight burrito on the floor that's what you looked like." He was laughing so hard he had to put my clothes down for a second just to laugh.

"Stopppp! your making me laugh I gotta pack!" It took us about and hour to pack because we kept laughing. Josh drove me to the airport we got there at 6 and I check my bags in. I gave Josh a hug but he pulled my arm back in.

"Kat, whatever you say to him or tell him he is still going to care about you, he is a good guy and you deserve this more than anyone I know. Don't be afraid to let him see you for who you are." He kissed my head and wished me good luck.

"Thank you so much Josh, I will see you when I get back."

I got on the plane and my hands started to shake. For some reason I loved roller coasters, bungee jumping and everything crazy like that but I was scared shitless of planes. I chewed as much gum as I could put in my mouth. The plane ride was about 6 hours and it was horrible, a baby was crying the whole time behind me, some drunk guy next to me passed out on my shoulder, and we hit some bad turbulence.

"Thank god that's over." I said to myself rolling my carry on down the hallway. I called Nick but forgot about the time difference and realized it was only 9 here not 12, he was still at his game. I sat on the bench wondering what I was suppose to do. I walked to the baggage pick up and grabbed my bag. I turned around and saw a man standing with a sign that said Ms Kate Patrick.

"Hi, I'm Kate." I was leaning over because my bag was so heavy

"Welcome to LA let me take your bags."

"Oh it's okay I can carry them." I was lying but I didn't want to be rude

"It's my pleasure." He took them anyway and walked me to a limo. A LIMO! I have never been in one. I was so excited.

"Well here is where you will be staying, your room is already set up just give the baggage man at the front this note and you will have to show him your drivers license just so he knows it is you."
The driver took my bags to the front and said goodbye.

"Thank you so much!" I turned around and a short well dressed man said a very high pitched hello that made me jump.

"Sorry to startle you Ms Let me take you to your room."

The hotel was very nice, I unpacked and lounged on the bed. I turned on the TV to see if the game was on but no luck. It was about 10:30 when Nick called me

"Did you make it okay, everything is fine?"

"Yes of course, this is so sweet, you didn't have to do all this."

"Babe of course I did, your worth it, we are leaving Anaheim right now so I will be there in like 45 minutes to an hour is that okay?"

"Oh I forgot you were there first, yeah that's fine. Did you guys win they didn't have the game on here."

"Yeah! we kicked their ass! I had a goal in the first period. It was a good game."

"Good job baby!!"

"Thanks. How about you order yourself some room service and I will call you when I'm there?"

"Okay, be safe."

"I will, see you soon." I ate dinner and read some of the book I had brought with me. I was anxious to see Nick. It was about 11:45 when a knock came at my door. I ran to open it and before I knew it i was up in the air.

"Hey you! I missed you even though it's only been a day." I wrapped my legs around him and gave him a kiss.

"Not even, are you tired?" he carried me to the bed and laid me down then laid next to me.

"Yeah a little bit but I'm excited to see you."

"Here sit up." I sat behind him and kissed him on the neck and started to rub his shoulders. He turned back around and pushed my hair behind my ears and kissed me.

"When do you want to talk?"

"Now is fine with me if you don't mind being up late."

"Not at all."
